HODAKA was winner of its class in the 500 MILE GREENHORN ENDURO, the NATIONAL TRAIL BIKE CHAMPIONSHIP, the PIKE'S PEAK HILL CLIMB, and
now TWO HODAKA Ace 90s have become the first current model lightweight motorcycles to travel the 3,700 miles of this tortuous peninsula, BAJA, California,
and come out victorious. These durable HODAKAS finished, running strong, WITHOUT HAVING RECEIVED ANY OUTSIDE ASSISTANCE ENROUTE ... no
parts dumps, no 'copter drops or "nurse-maiding" by 4-wheel-drive vehicles . . just two nervy young riders (Frank Wheeler of Lancaster, Calif, and Marv Foster
of Yakima, Wash.) with "the shirts on their backs", a few cans of oil, and some spare engine parts in their backpacks (which were never touched). Wheeler
had five flats from cactus needles. You get some idea of what we mean by HODAKABILITY from the fact that Wheeler's Ace 90 carried over 315 pounds . .
OVER TWICE ITS OWN WEIGHT, as ho weighs 230 pounds (stands 6 ft. 5 in.) and his pack, extra oil and gas, etc., made 85 additional pounds.
THESE WERE STOCK, STANDARD HODAKAS . .
