10” Diameter. Geri has been a professional artist for 50 years. First as a commercial artist, then after moving to Montana she began her career in fine art, painting the Native Indians of the Pacific Northwest & Canada as well as commissioned portraits. Her works were recognized by art dealers & private collectors which quickly took her work across the US & Canada. After moving to Arizona, she expanded her outstanding talent to the use of gourds as an exciting canvas to express herself, and has established quite a reputation in the southwest for her commissions in this very popular art form. Her gourds reflect hours of design, carving, woodburning, and painting. She is an enthusiastic teacher of this multi-media art form. Her work can be further explored in the following publications…“Gourd Art: Beyond the Basics,” and “Making Gourd Dolls & Spirit Figurines.” This particular gourd is especially a standout among her multiple works with the depiction of ancient pictographs, beadwork, metallic copper paint, turquoise stone, etc., all incorporated into this single piece of artistic expression!
