Contego Reactive Fire Barrier (RFB) is a latex water-based coating that can be applied to virtually any type of building material and provides zero flame spread and smoke production. When exposed to high heat or fire, Contego RFB thin film coating swells away from the surface to block oxygen and slow fire spread.
Applies like regular paint, so is easy to apply. Please use within 72 hours of opening container. You can add a top coat for color and decoration. Contego will protect the paper fascia on drywall while maintaining a flame spread and smoke production rating of ZERO X ZERO.
Contego has a pleasant scent (no VOCs), both in the container and during a burn. Contego has no health risks and is completely inoffensive and easily applied.
