    THIS IS A RARE MANICURE JAR FROM DR. J PARKER PRAY
    WHITE MILK GLASS
    EMBOSSED ON THE INSIDE LID- DR. J. PARKER PRAY--ESTABLISHED 1868-- NEW YORK--1880
    IT ALSO HAS 1880 EMBOSSED ON THE BOTTOM OF THE JAR
    THE JAR MEASURES 1 1/4 IN. TALL X 2 1/4 IN. IN DIAMETER
    DR. J PARKER PRAY WAS THE 1ST MANICURE DR. IN 1874 HE MET & MARRIED MARY E. COBB, WHO MOVED TO NY AT THE END OF THE CIVIL WAR. SHE THEN WENT TO FRANCE TO BE TRAINED IN THE ART OF FRENCH MANICURES.
    THEY WERE ALSO CREDITED FOR THE INVENTION KNOWN AS THE "EMORY BOARD"

    I SEE NO CHIPS, OR CRACKS, THERE IS A TINY SLIVER OF GLASS MISSING ON THE OUTSIDE RIM OF THE LID, BUT IT IS SO POLISHED I AM SAYING IT IS A FACTORY FLAW.
