Active Elements - Protect & Shine
is a high gloss long lasting and renewable maintenance coat for interior decorative concrete floors. Protect & Shine is a rapid return to service product making it ideal for retail and commercial floors where maintenance must be performed during after hours.  It is also perfect for residential floors especially when there are pets present or the floors get heavy use. Active Elements - Protect & Shine should be applied over the top of a base sealer such as Active Elements – Advance Seal.
    Coverage – 500 - 1000 square feet per gallon
Coverage variations depend on concrete surface porosity and amount of material applied.
    Surface Preparation
Prior to the application of Active Elements - Protect & Shine, the floor must be clean and dry.
A previously applied base sealer must be fully cured.
    Application Tools
Finish mop or floor finish applicator.
    Application
Completely dampen the finish applicator with Active Elements - Protect & Shine and apply a very thin coat.
As Active Elements - Protect & Shine is being applied it should make the floor look wet but not milky.  If you are seeing a milky haze, reduce the amount of material being applied per square foot. Each successive coat should be applied perpendicular to the previous coat in order to reduce lap marks.
    For interior use only.
Initial application on a floor -- apply 4-8 thin coats.
As a maintenance application -- apply 1-2 thin coats.
    Drying Time
    Dry to Touch.  5-15 minutes
    Recoat             30 minutes
    Light traffic     1 hour

    Storage and Shelf Life
Do not allow to freeze. Shelf life of unopened product is approximately one year.
    Slip and Fall Precautions
Water or other foreign substances will cause a floor coated with Floor Finish to become slippery. ALWAYS use a “Wet Floor” sign when moisture is present.
    Safety
Do not breathe vapors. When using in confined or limited ventilation areas, use appropriate respirator to protect against breathing vapors. Avoid contact with skin; wear protective gloves and clothing. Always use eye protection such as goggles, face shield or safety glasses. Read Material Safety Data Sheet before using.
    First Aid
Eye Contact: Immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes while holding eyelids open. Seek medical attention.
Skin Contact: Immediately remove contaminated clothing. Wipe excess from skin and wash with soap and water. Seek medical attention if irritation persists.
Inhalation: Remove person to fresh air and provide oxygen if breathing is difficult. Seek medical attention.
Moisture Vapor Emissions / Alkalinity Precautions
All interior concrete floors not poured over an effective moisture vapor barrier/inhibitor are subject to possible moisture vapor transmission and related high levels of alkalinity that may lead to blistering and failure of the coating system. It is the coating applicator’s responsibility to conduct calcium chloride and relative humidity probe testing to determine if excessive levels of vapor emissions or alkalinity are present before applying any coatings.
