I wrote a review for the original PoolRX and we love it. We have a larger pool, and the recommendation I would make is to make sure you do not short change yourself and skimp out on the booster when needed. We tried to use just one booster when in reality we need 1.5-2. It didn't work and I was getting mad, but when I put 2 in our system, it turned blue overnight. I don't know what is in this and what it does, but it turned our pool from green to blue and it is no longer cloudy. You have to be careful that you don't become lazy with your other chemicals, because when you realize that you spend the majority of your time fighting algae, and that is now no longer a problem, you forget to add chlorine. Keep the other levels right and you will have a great summer.
I'm not going to pretend that I know how or why it works, but it does. My mom found it years ago, after a decade of struggling to keep the pool clear without it. You need to use less chemicals in the pool when you use Pool Rx, and incidences of random algae flare ups and cloudy water hardly ever happen. Now the pool is mine, and after all those years of watching Mom try to figure out the key to success, and seeing the difference when she found Pool Rx, I will absolutely do the same. Buy one every year, pop it in when you open the pool, and you'll be ready for summer!
The cartridge quit working after 4 months and water was starting to get cloudy, even though the chemical balance was okay. The hot California sun makes the pool hard to deal with at times. Algae was also collecting on the sides of the pool so it looked like the copper was depleted. I have a very large pool and dumped 2 containers in the skimmer, let the pump run for a few days and watched the water clear up. It is now crystal clear again and hasn't looked this good in years. This stuff is a miracle. Will be making an another order soon.
