    Description:
If something important to you is not addressed in my description, ask before bidding. It is up to you to pre qualify an item's suitability for your needs.. Please ask any questions and I will answer them to the best of my ability..
You are bidding on a true "museum piece".. This marble is the work of Richard Marquis..prolific,and ground-breaking, Murrine Glass Artist.. He is very well-known for his Murrini Glass Teapots,as well as other Avante~Garde Blown Glass artwork..His career spans more than 50 years ..and his pieces are always highly sought-after! You will not see another of these from this time period offered anytime soon!
    This marble is aprox. 1 3/4" ( 1.75 inches)
My research shows that this marble is from the period when he was working out of Berkeley,California ,with Jack Wax and Jody Fine.It is dated 1979 and signed by Richard Marquis ,in a small panel on the marble. He went on ,after his work in that studio, to collaborate with Ro Purser, and formed the "Noble Effort" company.. and they also made these marbles/spheres
It is a multi-color rainbow, with a sort of millefiori look, and every time you pick it up, or turn it,you see a new view..This style is referred to as "Crazy Quilt" by some. ..and has awesome eye-appeal!It has shooting stars, tiny little panels with criss-cross images,..and brilliant sparkling green panels ,as well.
The marble has not been polished
A pioneer of American contemporary glass art, Richard Marquis is one of the first Americans ever to work in a Venetian glass factory, becoming a master of acclaimed Venetian cane and murine glass techniques. Ranging from outrageous and highly embellished to domestically whimsical, his work is characterized by a flawless technique and a sophisticated understanding of form and color.
I am not a Murrine/Murrini glass collector ,so please let me know if I missed something in my description..I took photos outside ..you could see the outstanding colors!
check the photos in the listing to get an accurate idea before bidding..
I am running this as a classic "auction style" listing, with the high bidder the new owner of this great piece!
You will be "happy" if you are the lucky high bidder!!

.. Please view the gallery photos..I put a bunch of photos in,and they are part of the description..This is a mint marble/sphere..,and is a fine example of this Artisans style of Murrine glass-making.. Keep in mind, these are magnified images..and taken in direct sunlight.. the display is excellent with this marble..there is some glare, and my fingerprints may be on it ,as well. If you need any additional information or photos, please just message me.

Exact Shipping Costs To International Destinations will be determined at the close of the auction.. and You will need to contact me for a quote before you bid!
    Payment Policy:
Wait for the corrected invoice ,before you pay.. Shipping cost is based on destination and delivery service .. The cost quote above is not accurate.. Payment is expected within 5 business days.
I ship when your payment clears eBay's new system and the funds have been "Made Available For Pay-Out".. This translates to 3-4 business days after you have initiated payment.. This is eBays' new system, and I have no control over the way they have decided to run their business model.. But I have been a seller here for 21 years, and I have always had the same policy,of not shipping until full payment is processed..The bottom line is, I no longer do "next day" shipping. Thanks for your interest in and possible bid on our auction!
