I am a Cabinet Maker by trade and woodworker by passion.  I use trim routers everyday, purchased 2 Makita Cordless routers and instantly knew the stock router base was worthless.  So, I made my own.  My router base is far more stable, safer, durable, and easier to use.  There made out of solid 4"x5"x5/16" solid Phenolic, which is much larger and thicker than the stock one.  This base is also much harder to break or chip.  I made it out of Phenolic instead of clear material for several reasons.  Because I use this everyday, the clear gets so scratched that its no longer clear within a week.  Plus, I like my focus to be on what I'm routing instead of how pretty the clear base is and the LED light glare off the clear base is very distracting.  Again, I use this base everyday in a commercial custom cabinet shop.
This router base is 4" x 5" x 5/16" thick.  The bit opening is 1 3/8".  Your stock screws will work.
All edges have been eased and polished
as to not damage your work.  The bottom is black and the top is fake wood grain, it's what I had.  Please feel free to ask questions. These are made by my hands in Maryland, USA.
